Veise G2 Wi-Fi GatewayManufacturer reference photo of the separately sold G2 gateway. The photo does not establish that a gateway is included with a lock.

Both the RZ06 and VE027 have documented free-app routes, but they do not reach the internet in the same way. The RZ06's nearby Bluetooth use is different from remote access through an added gateway. The VE027 has built-in Wi-Fi for its documented remote-management functions. Decide whether you need access from away before comparing the bare locks.

This is a configuration comparison. It does not claim that we have installed these locks, tested their security, or measured fingerprint recognition and battery life.

Start with one real household task

If a household member is standing at the door, they need an available local entry method. If you are issuing or managing access while away, the network and app path become part of the task. These are separate conditions even when an advertisement groups them under “smart access.”

Write down the action you actually want. Nearby phone management, a local keypad credential and an off-site app command do not have identical equipment needs. The easiest setup is the one that meets that action with a clear fallback when a phone, battery or network is unavailable.

RZ06: decide whether to add the gateway

The RZ06 page describes DDLock and a free app-management route. Its Bluetooth connection supports the nearby use case. Veise specifies an additional G2 gateway for remote and voice-control functions.

That makes the RZ06 a candidate when Bluetooth and local entry cover the main routine, with remote access as a deliberate expansion. If remote access is essential from the first day, include the correct gateway, its supply and its placement in the equipment list. Do not compare a bare RZ06 with an integrated Wi-Fi lock as though both already include the same remote route.

Also consider the building. A gateway needs a workable connection to the lock and its own suitable network arrangement. A distant router or awkward power location can affect whether this configuration is convenient, regardless of the app's subscription policy.

VE027: fewer separate network devices

The VE027 page identifies the KK Home app, built-in 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and remote management without a separate gateway. It explicitly states that its app has no subscription or monthly fee. The page also identifies the satin-nickel ASIN in our candidate inventory.

The practical benefit is a simpler equipment list for that documented remote path. The door still needs suitable network coverage. An integrated radio is not evidence that the lock will communicate well through every wall or from every entrance.

The VE027 page distinguishes local operation during an internet outage from remote functions that require a network. Treat this as a reason to plan separate local and off-site workflows, not a claim that remote management works without the internet.

Fit and recovery can outweigh the app choice

Measure the door and compare the backset, thickness, bore and strike arrangement with the exact installation instructions. Check the included hardware for the chosen finish and handleset. Existing misalignment should be resolved rather than relying on a motor to compensate for a difficult door.

Then plan battery replacement and backup access. The VE027's documented eight-AA requirement belongs in the ownership budget. Do not borrow that specification for the RZ06 or assume that every Veise model uses the same battery count or app.

Review who will administer access and what should happen when a household member changes phones. A lock's free app is useful only when the household can keep credentials and recovery methods organized.

The decision in practice

Investigate the RZ06 when local and nearby Bluetooth use is sufficient, or when you prefer the separate gateway arrangement after checking its placement. Investigate the VE027 when built-in Wi-Fi matches the remote-access task and the entrance has compatible coverage.

For both, compare a complete, compatible setup. The absence of a monthly app bill should support the choice; it should not distract from door fit, network dependencies and everyday access recovery.
