Choose between Qrevo CurvX and the base Q7 L5 by identifying the task you want the station to do. Both have documented app-oriented mapped cleaning, but their dock workflows are substantially different. CurvX automates dust collection and several mop-service operations; base L5 gives you a charger and leaves the servicing to you. The difference after a cleaning run

The CurvX model page documents dust emptying, hot-water mop washing, warm-air drying and robot-water refill. After regular mopping, those station jobs can reduce repeated handling of the robot. The tanks, tray, bag and cleaning parts still require owner maintenance.

The base Q7 L5 page lists a charging dock and removable mop equipment. You empty the bin, fill the supported water supply and wash and dry the cloth. The station has fewer wet components, but the robot needs more direct intervention. If occasional manual care is easy for you, that simplicity has practical value.

Do not confuse base L5 with L5+. The US Q7 family page separates those configurations. Even an automatic dust station is not evidence of a mop-washing station.

Ask how often you will actually mop

CurvX also explicitly lacks a cleaning-solution cartridge. If automatic detergent dosing is on your requirement list, this particular dock does not meet it. A more expensive or elaborate station should never be assumed to include every automation feature.

Compare routes without inventing a winner

CurvX has retractable LDS navigation and additional obstacle-sensing hardware described on its model page. Q7 L5 uses PreciSense LiDAR. These are design distinctions, not measured evidence that one avoids every cable or cleans every corner better.

Measure low openings, furniture crossbars and threshold approaches. Keep troublesome loose items out of the route and supervise initial runs. CurvX's navigation design is relevant to a low-furniture shortlist, while L5 may be adequate for a straightforward open layout. Neither should be selected solely from a suction figure.

Software membership and connectivity

The CurvX FCC manual and L5 FCC manual explain app setup and core operations without a paid-plan activation step. We infer those documented functions are included with the products. This does not establish permanently free advanced services or complete offline smart control.

Both checked manuals specify 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The Q7 family page explicitly requires the app and its terms for intended operation. CurvX advertises local Hello Rocky voice control, but that does not make remote video or app access Internet-independent. Choose for the connected setup you can support.

A purchase rule that is easy to apply

Shortlist CurvX if regular mop servicing is the chore you want to reduce and you can comfortably maintain a wet station. Shortlist base L5 if you can manage a bin and cloth yourself and want simpler station hardware. Draw the station footprint and service space in the actual room before buying.
