Aqara G100 Recording Costs: Local Card, Aqara Cloud or HomeKit Secure Video

Aqara G100 can be considered through more than one recording arrangement, and each needs its own budget. Local storage, Aqara cloud service and HomeKit Secure Video are different routes with different dependencies. Compare their complete costs around the history you want to keep, rather than assigning one subscription label to the entire camera.

This guide is a cost worksheet. It does not repeat a detailed integration tutorial or certify a particular household's Home configuration. Prices and conditions below are manufacturer-published terms checked on October 5, 2026, with account-specific offers still unverified.

Build the local-card baseline

The G100 product documentation describes local microSD recording and review, including continuous recording. A standalone Wi-Fi/card setup does not need a separate Aqara hub. Add a compatible card to the initial purchase because it is a separate storage item.

Also inspect the power package. The documented supply requirement is 5 V/1 A, while the manufacturer box list inspected does not include an adapter. Your retailer package may differ, so use its actual contents before entering an additional supply cost.

The local route has no established mandatory cloud-recording fee, but maintenance and retention still need attention. We have not measured recording days, card lifespan or the behavior of every app function during outages. If off-site copying or an archive is important, identify that task and its equipment separately.

Price Aqara cloud functions by the named feature

The US G100 information separates on-device person detection from HomeGuardian cloud AI and advanced cloud storage. Decide whether you need the specific cloud function before adding a plan to the budget.

Do not count every advanced face, pet or package feature as a free local entitlement. The relevant inputs are the supported model, region, named function and current plan terms. We have not verified an individual account's HomeGuardian renewal price, trial or included period.

A temporary offer should also stay separate from a recurring cost assumption. Record the trial end date and later charge if you choose one. A camera price and a cloud-service price answer different ownership questions.

Include the Apple arrangement completely

Apple's iCloud+ policy says HomeKit Secure Video needs a supported camera, supported home-hub device and eligible iCloud plan. That makes the home hub a potential hardware cost and iCloud+ a subscription condition for the recording route.

The posted US monthly prices are $0.99 for 50 GB and one HKSV camera, and $2.99 for 200 GB and up to five. Higher tiers support more cameras. These are plan references, not the total cost of a complete G100 installation or a guarantee of every future AI feature's entitlement.

If you already pay for an eligible plan and own the required hub, your incremental expense may differ from a new user's. Record what you already have, what you must add and whether your existing plan covers the intended camera count. Check the actual current account before assuming an upgrade is necessary or unnecessary.

Compare equivalent ownership periods

For each route, add verified camera/package costs, required hardware and chosen recurring service fees across the same period. Keep electricity, future replacements and unverified accessories as separate estimates or unknowns. We have not established exact retailer checkout prices or measured energy use.

Finally, define what happens to the footage you care about: rolling local history, optional cloud clips or a deliberately exported archive. Fee differences do not prove picture quality, privacy performance or reliability. Exact ASIN-to-configuration mapping remains open, and G100 Select should not silently replace this model. Choose the route whose documented cost and access arrangement matches your actual task.
