A robot's purchase price is only one input in a three-year ownership budget. Consumables, water, electricity and station maintenance vary with cleaning frequency and household conditions. A useful estimate records supported supplies and dated prices instead of inventing a universal annual figure. This guide uses official maintenance evidence for plain Dreame L40s Ultra, Narwal Flow 2 and Qrevo CurvX; it does not report measured running costs.

Begin with a complete purchase configuration

Record the robot, matching US station, required initial parts and any separately bought accessories. Count what the exact package includes before budgeting replacements. Our affiliate catalog titles match the researched models, but manufacturer-level ASIN-to-accessory proof remains unresolved.

For a wet station, identify bags, filters, brushes, mop or track parts and supported solution. For a possible plumbing upgrade, obtain a separate confirmed kit and installation quote. Do not put an unsupported kit into the normal robot price or assume a tank package already includes it.

Use maintenance intervals as planning guides

The plain L40s Ultra manual provides suggested replacement intervals, including dust bags at two to four months, mop pads at one to three months, main brushes at six to twelve months and filters at three to six months. These are manufacturer starting points, not measured lifetimes in every household.

The Flow 2 US FAQ gives different guidance for its system, including a dust bag at about 120 days without pets or 90 days with pets, and distinct roller, track-mop and brush replacement guidance. Do not convert one model's pad calendar into another model's roller cost.

Inspect and service parts as directed. A clogged filter, dirty track or wet tank can need attention before the suggested replacement date. Cleaning a part and replacing it are separate jobs with different budget implications.

Build the worksheet from quantities and dated quotes

Use this structure: three-year estimated cost equals the complete initial purchase, plus expected replacement quantities multiplied by dated unit prices, plus solution, utility and optional service costs. Keep any installation and repair allowance as separate lines.

For each part, record the exact compatible part number or manufacturer description, units per pack, current pack price, source and quote date. Translate pack price into a unit price before multiplying. Subtract usable supplied spares only when package contents are verified.

Make a lower and higher estimate using plausible service intervals for your actual routine. Label those as assumptions. For example, the manual's two-to-four-month bag guidance suggests a range of replacement events, but the number you purchase also depends on initial stock and actual collection volume. No dollar total is defensible until dated compatible-part prices are entered.

Include the work automation leaves behind

The CurvX manual still requires tank, bag, brush, filter and wash-area care. Automatic mop washing does not make the station maintenance-free. CurvX's US FAQ also excludes a cleaning-solution cartridge, so do not price automatic detergent dosing as a supported feature.

Water and electricity belong in the worksheet, but advertised heating temperatures or battery capacity do not establish actual monthly usage. Without measured consumption and local rates, leave those entries as explicit estimates rather than presenting a precise tested amount.

Separate optional subscriptions from supplies

Narwal's accessory subscription terms describe optional recurring supply deliveries. Compare their actual included items and renewal cost with individual purchases. Avoid counting both routes for the same supplies in one budget.

Official manuals present the documented core robot functions without paid-plan activation; we infer those controls are included. Advanced services, warranties and future paid features should be listed separately only when their current terms are confirmed.

The final budget should show dated prices, compatible parts and visible assumptions. Its purpose is to reveal which station and cleaning routine you can sustain, not to disguise unknown operating costs behind a precise-looking three-year total.
