A small apartment can be difficult for a large robot station even when its cleaning area is modest. The station needs an approach route, power, network coverage and enough access for the owner to service it. Compare the manual-care Q7 L5 with the wet-service Qrevo CurvX by those requirements, rather than assuming that a compact home needs the least powerful or most automated machine. This is official-document research, not a fit or cleaning test.

Find a viable station location first

Start with a powered location on a suitable flat floor. Mark the robot's route into the room, the area in front of the station and the space you need to reach its compartments. A dock that fits between two cabinets can still be unusable if the robot cannot approach or its tanks cannot be removed.

The CurvX FCC manual asks for a placement space of at least 0.9m high, 0.46m wide and 1.2m deep. These are placement instructions, not simply the dock's external dimensions. It also calls for a hard, flat surface, suitable Wi-Fi and an unobstructed location away from interference such as direct sunlight on the docking beacon.

Use the exact supplied manual for your hardware, rather than substituting another model's clearance diagram. A cabinet installation must allow both robot movement and human servicing, not just conceal the equipment.

Decide which chore matters in a small home

The Q7 L5 US page describes a charging-dock package with a removable mop system. You empty the robot's bin, manage its water and clean its cloth. That can be a practical routine where short runs and direct servicing are manageable.

CurvX's station collects dust, washes and dries mops and refills the robot with water. Its US product FAQ specifically says it does not have a cleaning-solution cartridge. The owner still carries clean and dirty water, replaces bags and cleans the station's wet area.

If your apartment mainly has rugs and you want occasional vacuuming, additional wet-station hardware may not remove your main chore. If you mop hard floors frequently, automatic washing can be relevant despite the smaller floor area. Neither situation establishes which machine cleans better; it establishes what work the hardware is designed to transfer.

Account for storage and service access

Include spare bags, filters, cloths and supported solution in the storage plan. Keep supplies where they can be handled safely, and allow dirty-water disposal without carrying an open tank through an awkward passage.

Also inspect the route beneath chairs and around door stops. A robot should be able to enter, turn and leave the space. Remove cords and loose objects before an initial run. Small-room geometry can matter more than a large advertised maximum cleaning area.

Consider your cleaning schedule in relation to the station's automated tasks. Dust collection and drying are distinct operations with their own settings. We do not have measured sound results for either model and cannot promise that a schedule will be unobtrusive beside a bed or work desk.

Understand app and fee requirements

Official manuals present pairing, cleaning controls and schedules as ordinary operations without subscription activation. We infer that those documented core functions are included. This is not an explicit guarantee about every future service or advanced AI function.

Both checked model manuals specify 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. The US Q7 family page requires the app and acceptance of its terms for intended operation. Physical buttons do not establish a complete Internet-independent map and schedule workflow.

A purchase-ready apartment check

Measure the viable station location, confirm access to power and Wi-Fi, and trace the robot's cleaning route. Then compare the chores you can reasonably perform with those the station automates. Verify the exact US package and initial supplies because catalog titles do not prove every ASIN's accessory contents.

The right apartment robot is the one whose complete equipment and service routine fit your home. External size, floor area and a flagship label are insufficient on their own.
