Q7 L5 and Freo X10 Pro represent different ownership workflows. The base L5 has a charging dock and removable cloth; X10 Pro has a station that collects dust and washes and dries spinning mops. Decide from the work you are willing to perform and the station space you can provide. We have not tested which cleans a particular floor better.
The simple setup
The Q7 L5 US page documents a robot with a charging dock and mop equipment. You manage bin emptying, water filling and cloth washing and drying. That routine is practical when the area is modest, mopping is occasional and the robot is easy to reach.
The charger has fewer wet-maintenance components than a mop-service station. However, every mopping session leaves a cloth that needs care, and dust handling stays with the owner. Do not confuse base L5 with an L5+ offer; the US Q7 family page distinguishes the dock configurations.
The automated mop workflow
The X10 Pro page documents dust compression and collection, mop washing and air drying at its tank station. That can reduce repeated robot handling when you mop frequently. It does not remove tank filling, dirty-water disposal, station cleaning or supply replacement.
Give the tanks a convenient path to a water source and a suitable disposal location. A station that fits in a corner can still be inconvenient if you cannot lift its tanks or reach its filters and bag. Advertised dust-storage intervals depend on use and should never be applied to all station maintenance.
Match the mop to your routine
L5's removable cloth gives an owner a straightforward vacuum-only setup when wet fabric is inappropriate for a run. The documentation checked here does not establish an automatic mop-lifting mechanism on base L5. Plan rugs and other exclusions accordingly rather than borrowing a feature from a more elaborate Roborock.
X10 Pro describes mop lifting and carpet strategies, but those remain manufacturer capabilities to evaluate against the actual rug. Thick pile, fringe, loose edges and transitions can need conservative routing. Neither model's navigation or suction claims establish complete protection for every floor covering.
App functions and fee evidence
The L5 FCC manual documents setup, cleaning controls and scheduled operation without a paid-plan activation step. X10 Pro's exact model page presents maps, no-go zones and schedules as product capabilities without a paid membership prerequisite. We infer that those documented core functions are included with each product.
That inference is not an explicit lifetime free-service promise or a payment-flow test. The L5 manual specifies 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and the Q7 page requires the app for intended operation. The exact X10 manual download was unresolved, so confirm its network requirements before buying for a restricted router. We do not claim that either full smart workflow is independent of Internet services.
Who should choose which workflow?
Shortlist base L5 if direct bin and cloth care is easy and you want simpler dock hardware. Shortlist X10 Pro if regular mopping makes automated pad service valuable and you can maintain the larger wet system. If mainly vacuuming, ask whether a station devoted partly to mop care addresses an actual chore.
Before purchase, verify the US model, matching dock, power equipment and initial supplies. Our affiliate titles match both model names, while precise manufacturer ASIN-to-bundle mapping remains unresolved. Consumables, water and electricity belong in the budget for either; X10's optional accessory delivery plans are a supply-purchasing choice, not documented mandatory app fees. Decide from the complete supported routine instead of an untested specification ranking.
