Dreo 338S and Levoit Core 200S-P make a useful comparison when you want a compact connected air purifier. The decision is not settled by counting smart features. Compare the room assumptions, the way you intend to change settings and the recurring filter purchase you can maintain.
This is a documentation comparison, not a purification or sound test. Our Dreo catalog title identifies DR-HAP008S; the available Levoit record does not establish Core 200S-P identity. Levoit therefore appears as an official reference model, with no buying button attached to an unconfirmed ASIN.
Normalize the room question first
The Dreo 338S page publishes a 115 CFM figure. The Levoit specification lists 90 CFM CADR and provides room areas at different air-change rates. Do not convert those short specifications into a tested ranking or select the largest advertised area without reading its assumptions.
Write down the room size, whether doors will normally remain open and the turnover context used by each manufacturer. Compare equivalent conditions where the official documentation supports them. Our review does not establish performance at your preferred quiet setting, and the listed figures should not be treated as proof of that result.
A unit serving a defined bedroom presents a clearer selection problem than one expected to cover several connected spaces. If the intended area cannot be matched to the documented conditions, resolve that uncertainty before letting app features decide the purchase.
Choose between observing and scheduling
Dreo documents a PM2.5 display for 338S. That may interest someone who wants a particle reading visible on the device. It does not establish sensor accuracy, detection of every relevant indoor condition or a medical interpretation. Decide what you would actually do differently after seeing a reading.
Levoit documents app scheduling and remote control. A schedule can be useful for a predictable routine, but scheduled operation should not be described as automatic response to a particle sensor. We have not established that Core 200S-P has another Levoit model's sensor-control features.
Both examples encourage a practical question: do you mainly want to set operating times, change settings away from the machine or look at a device display? Answering it prevents a long feature list from obscuring a simpler household need. We have not tested the apps side by side.
Compare fee evidence carefully
Levoit explicitly describes VeSync as free for the documented Core 200S-P controls. Dreo's official iOS app listing is marked Free and describes connected control. The latter establishes free download, but our research did not establish the fee status of every 338S-specific service through a complete activation flow.
That evidence difference should be visible in the shortlist. It is not a reason to invent a Dreo charge or promise perpetual free access. Verify the current model-specific app setup and any optional services before treating the connected-control budget as settled.
Check compatible phones and network conditions as well. An assistant integration may require another account or service. Decide whether physical controls provide an adequate everyday fallback when the managing phone is unavailable; we have not tested outage behavior for either purifier.
Compare consumables without assuming equal intervals
Find each exact replacement filter and its current purchase options. Dreo offers optional recurring filter delivery, which is separate from an app-access charge. A delivery interval is not a measured filter life for your room.
Estimate costs using the manufacturer's maintenance guidance and your intended operation. We do not have verified checkout prices, matched replacement intervals or an electricity-cost comparison. A speculative annual total would hide more than it explains.
Our selection judgment is to favor the configuration whose documented room conditions and control workflow match your needs. Dreo's display and Levoit's clear free-app statement are distinct considerations, while retailer identity, filter availability and unresolved connected-service terms still need checking. Neither product receives an independent effectiveness or medical-benefit verdict here.
